HealthQuest of Hunterdon and Hunterdon Healthcare Will Partner to Improve the Health of the Community

HealthQuest of Hunterdon, one of the top 100 fitness clubs in the country and Hunterdon Healthcare System, ranked among the best regional hospitals by U.S. News and World Report, announced today that both organizations have entered into a long-term partnership to join forces in providing new health, wellness, and fitness programs to Hunterdon County residents.  The partnership recognizes the significant growth opportunity in jointly utilizing the two strategic locations of the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers owned by Hunterdon Medical Center and HealthQuest of Hunterdon, owned by the Cust family.

An advisory board has been created that represents the ownership of both organizations to develop a community wellness plan that will build new programs and encourage more members of the community to recognize the value of exercise in their daily lives.

Already, Hunterdon County has been ranked the healthiest County for the past five years according to a national study.  Both HealthQuest of Hunterdon and Hunterdon Healthcare share a goal to improve the quality of life for our community.  According to Robert P. Wise, President and CEO of Hunterdon Healthcare, “Hunterdon Healthcare and HealthQuest share a common vision to focus on healthy lifestyle choices and regular exercise. This partnership enables us to eliminate unnecessary duplication of services, utilize the strengths of access to services of each facility, and grow new programs where they will have the greatest beneficial impact on the population of residents and employees.”  Jack Cust, Principle of HealthQuest of Hunterdon agrees, “This collaboration with Hunterdon Healthcare will provide our members with a variety of resources that will enhance their membership and provide better access to health care.”

The Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center in Whitehouse Station was one of the first fitness centers in the county to open in 1998, followed by HealthQuest of Hunterdon in 2001 and then most recently the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center in Clinton in 2008.

HealthQuest of Hunterdon provides high quality family fitness, wellness and athletic opportunities in an optimal, educational, friendly and entertaining environment.  With a membership base of nearly 10,000 members, HealthQuest continues to offer the most cutting edge technology, fitness and wellness options in a results driven atmosphere. Encompassing a 104,000 sq. ft. facility that was recently renovated and includes two swimming pools, two full indoor basketball courts, dance, gymnastics, martial arts studios as well as two fitness centers.

The Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers in both Whitehouse Station and Clinton have nearly 5,000 members and offer full service fitness facilities. Services available are physical therapy, aquatic therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, personal training, massage, weight management/nutrition, senior fitness, community education classes and pre and post natal programs.   Both Centers also house medical offices and outpatient support services including a laboratory, the Center for Advanced Weight Loss, Heart and Vascular Center and Sleep Disorders Center in Clinton.

Additional Note:

Beginning February 1st, 2015, Hunterdon Medical Center will have presence in the “Complete U” Wellness space to offer an informational area to educate members of Hunterdon Medical Center offerings. HealthQuest of Hunterdon and Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center will also begin reciprocity between all three fitness centers.  HealthQuest of Hunterdon members will be granted 3 guest visits per month at the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers in Clinton or Whitehouse Station.  Hunterdon Health and Wellness Center members will be granted 3 guest visits per month at HealthQuest of Hunterdon.
