SPrINg to Summer Challenge!

Starting April 17th!


Who’s up for another fun challenge powered by Athletifreak!?!? We’re going to SPrINg to SUMMER from Easter to Memorial Day! All you need is a free Performance IQ account and all your cycling miles during classes at the club will be tracked automatically in our system between April 17 – May 30.


Each rider accumulating 80, 160, and 240 Miles in the 6 week challenge will earn prizes at each benchmark from Athletifreak and HQ! Free for Members.

Wheelhouse Workshop

Sundays April 24th, May 15th & June 12th – 9:45-10:15am


Have you ever wondered what goes on in the Wheelhouse and were always reluctant to try it out?


Are you new to spinning and aren’t quite sure on some of the terminology? 


Are you a spinning enthusiast looking to get even more out of your workout? 


Join us on Sunday April 24th, May 15th, and June 12th for a free workshop from 9:45 to 10:15am. These interactive workshops will focus on:

  • Getting your profile set up
  • Explaining our Performance IQ (PIQ) system
  • Fine tuning your bike fit
  • Individualized coaching on the basics (resistance, cadence, watts/power, PTP)
  • Understanding your data and tips on getting the most out of your rides
  • Answering your Spinning & Cycling questions

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day

Saturday, April 30th – 9:30-10:30am


World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is an annual event, celebrating and promoting the benefits of Tai Chi in 100s of cities in over 80 nations. At 10:00am in every time zone around the world, people will practice Tai Chi, Qigong and Meditation in parks, fields, community center or in their local Tai Chi school.


Benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong:

  • Improved Balance & Coordination
  • Boost in Immune System
  • Increased Energy, Stamina & Agility
  • Enhanced Feelings of Well Being


This special day will be complete with demos and guest instructors. The event is free and opened to beginners, advanced and the curious! We’ll meet outside behind the outdoor pool at HealthQuest.

Yoga Basics – Introduction to Yoga Workshop

Saturday, April 30th – 12-1:30pm

Prana Studio at HealthQuest


This special workshop will cover the common elements of basic yoga class and introduce the fundamental principles of alignment. Primary poses will be taught step by step with verbal description, demonstration, with an emphasis on safety and stability. You will learn how to move through a Sun Salutation in good form, modifying where necessary. Exercises of all levels are encouraged to come, have fun and ask questions in a safe, nurturing environment.


Members may sign up via our mobile app for $10/person and Non-Members may register at the Program Desk for $15/person. For questions about this workshop, please contact Group Fitness Director Linda Romaine at romaine@hqfit.com.

Baseball Summer Camp at Diamond Nation

Three Camp Dates Offered: July 5-8; July 11-14; July 27-29


Each camp day will start with a review of the daily goals, followed by a dynamic warm-up and flexibility drills. The primary instructional focus will consist of these important individual and group drills:


  • Throwing & Receiving Mechanics
  • Infield Techniques
  • Outfield Drills
  • Hitting Mechanics & Drills
  • Running Form
  • Bunting Techniques
  • Daily Live Games & Competitions
  • Situational & Game Strategies


Diamond Nation Process for Success:

  • Teach the proper mechanics & fundamentals necessary in the game of baseball: hitting, throwing, catching, pitching, defense, & baserunning
  • Teach the importance of a proper mental approach
  • Develop the ability to apply the aspects of a quality practice to a game setting, leading to a more confident performance
  • Most importantly, HAVE FUN & enjoy the great game of baseball


Our staff consists of experienced professional baseball players, coaches and scouts. Players will interact with camp coaches in a variety of drills and activities designed to reinforce proper technique.


Baseball Summer Camp is open to ages 6-12 at a cost of $299 ($225 for July 27-29). Also available after camp is aftercare hosted at HealthQuest Fitness Center for $50/day.

Global Learning Center (GLC) is offering a number of enrichment courses to help young students advance in many areas! For your convenience, GLC will soon be offering some courses on select nights at HealthQuest. Take a look at some of the courses offered:

Coding
It’s safe to say that coding is one of the most constructive hobbies for children to adopt, especially since it can help them develop persistence, communication creativity and higher-order thinking.

Rubik’s Cube

Math is all around us everywhere in everything we do, it is an essential building block for students. Learning math can help to improve one’s problem solving skills, analytical and reasoning ability, which helps them master decision making.

English
English Language Arts is an essential component to a child’s education. It gives them the framework to understand content faster, more effectively and provides them with skills to go beyond the written word.

Racquet Sports, Golf & Activities Summer Camp
