Camp Dynomite
If for any reason during the camp session your emergency contact information should change, please contact us immediately.
Prescription/Non-Prescription Medication
Medication time schedules should be set so that when possible, medication is taken at home rather than at camp. However, if medication must be taken at camp, the following procedures apply:
- Prescription Medication – The parent/legal guardian and physician must complete an authorization and instruction form. The completed form must accompany the medication, so be sure to take this form to your physician whenever your child is ill.
- Non-Prescription Medication – the parent/legal guardian must complete an authorization and instruction form.
- The medicine, in the original container (along with authorization form), must be taken to the camp health office for central storage. The parent/guardian should take the medication to camp; however, if this is not possible, your child should be instructed to take the medication and the authorization form directly to the camp health office. Under no circumstances should medication be shown or shared with other campers.
- At the designated time, the camper will go to the office to take the medication. Assistance/supervision will be in accordance with the instructions on the authorization form. Medication is a parental responsibility; camp employees will not assume any liability for supervising or assisting in the administration of medication.
- Emergency medications, such as an epi-pen, and the authorization form will be placed in the care of the primary first-aider and will remain in close proximity to the camper. At the end of each camp day, emergency medication will either be sent home with the parent or locked in the camp office for safe storage.
- Unused medication should be retrieved from the camp health office within one week after medication is discontinued; otherwise, the camp will dispose of the medication.
Camper Illness
Sick campers who are contagious must not be sent to camp. When a camper becomes ill at camp, the parent must arrange for the camper to be taken home as soon as possible after being notified of the illness.
Camp Dynomite staff will provide comfort until the child is picked up by their parent or guardian. Comfort will include providing a place of rest and, if needed, hydration until the parent arrives.
Return to Camp Policy
To ensure the health of all staff and campers, Camp Dynomite has adopted the following guidelines for returning to camp after an illness:
- Staff or campers may return to work or camp once their fever has been gone for 24 hours without medication and/or
- Staff or campers may return to camp when obvious signs of illness are no longer present such as excessive tiredness or lack of appetite; productive coughing and/or sneezing; headache, body aches, ear ache or minor sore throat.
This form is to be completed in full if you would like HealthQuest of Hunterdon to administer the required medication. One form must be filled out for each medication.
Once you have registered for a camp and payment in full has been received, any request to transfer from one camp to another will incur an additional $25 transfer fee.
After May 20, 2022, payment refunds (less the $50.00 non-refundable deposit per camp) will only be issued due to a child’s injury or extended illness, as evidenced by a doctor’s note.
All refunds will be prorated based on the length of your child’s attendance at camp. All refund requests must be made within 14 days of your child’s injury or illness.
If you wish to add camp extras Lunch, Lunch Bunch, PM Dynomo, Swim, Before & After Care) or additional camps for your child, you must complete a camp “add form” (no additional registration form is required). All forms must be received by 7:00pm the Thursday before the start of the camp week to avoid a $25.00 late fee.
All request forms are available at the Program Desk. All refund requests are subject to review by the camp directors. All transfer & add requests are subject to camp availability.
