Competitive swimming teaches a variety of skills, but all swimmers must master the basics before being considered for the competition. These skills include breathing, water safety, and basic swimming strokes. All lessons focus on improving swim strokes and form, achieving goals, and gaining confidence.

There are all types of competitions, based on skill level, age, league, and region. The skills learned in lessons depend on the type of competitions an individual will compete in, such as the butterfly or freestyle. Some teams participate in relay-style races, including the 25-yard, 25-meter, and 50-meter races.

Divers compete in several types of events, including springboard and platform diving. The dive methods taught include the forward, back, inward, reverse, arm-stand, and twist.

Our HealthQuest Fitness team philosophy is to focus on both the swimmer and the parent to help minimize the gap between an individual's potential and the ability to compete. In each lesson, we stress quality over quantity, so you also get your money's worth.

Our professional instructors emphasize a commitment to the team, conditioning to make each swimmer stronger, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We want to make sure each athlete has a positive and successful swimming experience, whether you decide to compete on a team or learn the basics.

Our swimming team instruction methods focus on muscular strength, cardiovascular training, endurance, core strength, and conditioning. We tailor all of our lessons to the individual swimmer. All levels may attend five days a week. Practices will consist of four days in the water and one day of land training.
