As children grow, they seem to quickly progress from being an “active” child to a child athlete. As a parent, have you ever stopped to think about what that really means? Raising a child to enjoy sports requires an all-around effort as you incorporate healthier eating, monitor their response to increasing competition and most important of all, making sure that they have the strength and conditioning to play their sport of choice. If your young athlete feels good, then he/she has a much better chance at having fun and sticking with a sport.
T3 Lacrosse and HealthQuest both know the importance of this concept and continue to stress it to their athletes. T3’s motto is “Train to Succeed”. This does not mean to simply win a game, but rather that they encourage their players to succeed all around, which means both on and off of the field. At the T3 training clinics, coaches emphasize the importance of good nutrition, team work and confidence as they teach the players the fundamentals of the game.
Ready to have your child try lacrosse? T3 Lacrosse is offering an opportunity to learn the basics through a 5 week lacrosse clinic for boys and girls in grades 1st – 5th grade, beginning March 29th. Both members and non-members of HealthQuest can participate in this clinic, so sign up with a friend! Registration is being taken at the HQ program desk (call 908-782-4009/ext.233) or online at www.healthquest-fitness.com.
Don’t forget – On April 8th, HealthQuest will be offering a seminar titled Young Athletes Motivation, “Becoming a Better Athlete.” This program is designed specifically to help educate parents on how they can better help their child succeed as an all-around athlete!
