Pilates Takes Center Stage at the Olympics

Many of us were glued to the TV watching the incredible abilities of the athletes in the Rio Summer Olympics.   It is amazing to see how many Olympians make Pilates part of their training regimen!

Volleyball gold medalist Kerry Jennings:   “I’ve been doing Pilates for about 10 to 15 years now. It completely transforms your body-everything from your core to your legs to your back. You realize you have all these new muscles you didn’t know you had.”   British cyclist Victoria Pendelton:  “I’ve been doing Pilates for more than a year, and for me, its been a real breakthrough in managing back pain and building my postural muscles.”    Diver David Boudia “uses Pilates to achieve that instrumental tight core and to improve flexibility.”    Swimmer Missy Franklin: “Pilates is an awesome cross-training exercise for any sport because it focuses on functional movement.”

You don’t need to be an Olympian to include Pilates in your life!   But be aware, if you do, you just may end up feeling like an Olympian!  Stop by the Pilates Studio or reach out to us at 908-782-4009 x230 to see how you can enhance your workouts by adding Pilates.
